Describe the photos you took: The photos we took were based on pattern and texture. The first and third picture are focused on texture, while the rest focus mainly on pattern. I was surprised on how many things I could capture that fit the guidelines of pattern. Texture was a bit more difficult because many things are smooth and aren't as appealing to the eye. How did you move beyond subject matter and make your images deal with surface quality, not just the subject of the image? On the picture of the tree stump, I got very close to it. If I hadn't gotten closer to it or if I hadn't crouched down to get near it, the picture would not have had the same texture effect. The pictured is not centered around the tree trunk, it is centered around the texture it displayed. Which of your images do you feel is the most captivating? Do you feel the lighting conditions made an impact on the quality of the images? The most captivating image here is the one with the lightbulb. The lighting conditions worked very well on the bulb. There is a deep contrast between the light that the bulb was emitting versus the natural light in the room and the darkness around it. If you could shoot one of them over again, which one would it be and why? If i could reshoot any image, it would be the one with the tree stump. I wish I had a better camera so that the detail in the stump could be seen even better, Also, I wish the lighting would have been nicer outside. It was getting dark when I took the picture, so the lighting was hard to work around.
