Why did you select to combine the images you chose? I chose these images to encapsulate what it literally means to be a wall flower. I wanted it to focus on the portrait, so I removed a large portion of the photograph so it is less revolved around the house. What message or mood is conveyed by their combination? The mood is one of seriousness. A wallflower is usually someone who stands out from the crowd and is often someone who is shy and finds themselves on the side at parties or dances. They often think a lot though and keep it all to themselves. When putting the portrait on the building, I applied an inner glow to make the portrait literally stand out from the crowd, similar to a wallflower. I really wanted to show how these people are not average. What part(s) of your image do you feel were particularly successful? Why? I think the image catches the audience's attention. The inner glow also fully draws the attention of the audience to the person and not the building, making it a portrait. Also, the image is very unique and touches upon a subject I find intriguing. In addition, the law of thirds is used here to make the image more sound in the composition sense. What would you like to manipulate further/touch-up? I wish I could go back and focus the picture of the house, more on the house and not the background as well. It was very distracting to the portrait. In addition, I would have liked to capture more of the subjects's body when placing her against the house. I think it would have truly shown the image of a wall flower, which is what I was shooting for.
